Singapore-based rig-builder Sembcorp Marine said Brazilian authorities have raided its shipyard in Brazil in relation to an ongoing corruption probe. The firm said authorities had searched its Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA) yard in the state of Espirito Santo as part of the ongoing “Operation Car Wash” bribery case. Launched in 2014, the Car Wash scandal has contributed to a massive recession in Brazil and shaken up the country’s political establishment (OD Mar.1’19).
