Exxon Mobil warned investors to expect lower earnings in certain parts of its business during the first quarter of 2019, a rare message ahead of its earnings call later this month. The US major said in a filing with the US Securities & Exchange Commission that earnings in its downstream and corporate segments would be lower compared to the fourth quarter of 2018, largely due to the absence of some one-time gains that helped results at the end of last year (OD Feb.4’19).
