Vitol, Trafigura Offices Searched in Petrobras Probe

Swiss investigators have searched the Geneva offices of trading giants Vitol and Trafigura as part of the long-running probe into the "Car Wash" corruption scandal involving Brazil's state- controlled oil company Petrobras (OD Dec.17'18). The searches, disclosed by prosecutors in Brazil, suggest that Switzerland is taking a more assertive stance toward the big oil trading firms operating from its territory, which between them market over 20 million barrels per day of oil.
