Oil Posts Modest Weekly Gain

Oil futures ended Friday almost flat with their previous close after a volatile session that saw a price plunge fail to breach key support. “More than anything, this market is reacting to trade war hopes and moving technically,” said Phil Flynn of Chicago’s Price Futures Group. Oil prices sank more than a dollar early on Friday as US President Donald Trump said there was no agreement on removing tariffs on Chinese goods but rebounded strongly off of technical support.
