Chinese Province to Ban Gasoline Cars by 2030

China’s southern province of Hainan will ban the sale of conventional cars by 2030, the provincial government said last week. The island is the first province to set such a deadline. Central government officials said in 2017 that Beijing would ban such cars, which in China run mainly on gasoline, but did not give any timeline for the plan (IOD Sep.15’17).
