India, Exxon Ink LNG Pact

India’s state-owned gas pipeline utility Gail India has signed an initial pact with Exxon Mobil to explore the use of LNG for transportation, bunkering as well as other new applications of technologies using gas, Chairman B.C. Tripathi said. The world’s fourth-largest LNG importer now has an installed import capacity of 26.7 million tons/yr, excluding two newly commissioned 10 million ton/yr terminals that have yet to ramp up, and with more terminals now in development.
