California Setback Bill Dumped

A bill that would look to institute the same wide setbacks in California that Colorado failed to pass last year, blocking off wide swaths of future oil and gas drilling, won’t advance this year. The bill, AB 345, sponsored by California Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance), would establish 2,500-foot setbacks between oil and gas wells and residences, schools, health clinic, playgrounds or childcare facilities.
