Total announced on Friday that it will drop its membership of the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) lobby group due to a difference in their positions on climate-related policy. The move follows a review by Total of its membership of 30 significant trade associations to assess alignment with its own climate policy. The French major said it found that the AFPM “holds views that diverge markedly from our own."
