Canadian integrated Husky Energy will focus on improving efficiencies and increasing margins rather than growth at some of its oil sands projects as it navigates ongoing production quotas imposed by the Alberta government. Executives said Tuesday that the deferral of planned expansions at the Sunrise and Tucker thermal projects, as well as reduced spending in Western Canada onshore and in Indonesia, will help the company reduce its overall capital spending, increasing total cash flow in coming years.
