Libya Restarts Some Output

The National Transitional Council(NTC) on Monday resumed oil produc-tion from eastern Libya, with small vol-umes from the Messla field flowing tomain facilities at the giant Sarir field, fromwhere the oil will be sent to the easternport of Tobruk, new National Oil Co.head Nouri Berruien told Oil Daily (ODSep.9’11). Messla rather than Sarir crudeis flowing first because it is better quality.Exports are expected to follow soon,but will depend on the level of productionand the time taken to fill storage tanks atTobruk — possibly three days or so,Berruien indicated. A number of compa-nies have already expressed interest inbuying the crude, he said.
