A bipartisan group of five US senators has urged the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to make greater use of its powers to crack down on oil market manipulation. The legislators were referring to a rule that allows the watchdog agency to investigate and punish a slew of fraudulent activities that may exacerbate oil price volatility.
