Tullow Oil'ss dismal results at the Carapa-1 exploration well offshore Guyana in the Kanuku Block, combined with results from two prior wells, bring into question the company'ss strategy amid record success by Exxon Mobil in the Stabroek Block. Carapa-1 was drilled to a total depth of 3,290 meters (10,800 feet) in water depths of 68 meters using the Valaris EXL II jackup rig, finding just four meters of net oil pay in the Upper Cretaceous play, Tullow said Thursday.
