Greens File Suit Over BLM Plan

A coalition of six green groups have filed suit in US District Court in Denver over a federal plan to expand oil and natural gas drilling and mining on Colorado's Western Slope, which they allege will put the Gunnison sage grouse at risk. The suit follows the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recently combining two 30-year-old management plans to create the Uncompahgre Field Office Resource Management Plan (RMP), which will dictate how oil and gas development and mining can take place on roughly 1 million mineral acres and nearly three-quarters of a million surface acres in southwestern Colorado (OD Nov.18'19).
