Oil production in the US fell by over 1 million barrels per day during the final week of August due to the impact of Hurricane Laura in the Gulf of Mexico, according to estimates from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). The agency's Weekly Petroleum Status Report, published Wednesday, showed that US crude oil production dropped by roughly 1.1 million in the week ended Aug. 28 to a seven-day average of 9.7 million b/d.
