Chevron Strikes US Gulf Deals With Equinor, Ecopetrol

Chevron has struck a pair of deals with two international players in the deepwater US Gulf of Mexico that the company says will bolster efficiencies for assets near existing infrastructure. In two separate undisclosed deals, Chevron confirmed it completed “lease exchanges” with Equinor of Norway and Ecopetrol of Colombia, “strengthening our portfolio and offering operational efficiencies.” The exchange with Equinor includes “a portion” of Chevron’s working interest in 12 leases and a portion of Equinor’s interest in 20 leases.
