BOEM Announces Next US Gulf Lease Sale

The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) said Tuesday that its sixth scheduled lease sale for parcels in the available portions of the US Gulf of Mexico will be held Mar. 18. The sale, to be held in New Orleans, includes 78 million acres in the Gulf under the 2017-22 Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program, drafted under the Obama administration, which excludes wide swaths of territory in the Eastern Gulf under a congressional moratorium.
