US President Donald Trump called his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Monday to discuss upheaval in the global energy markets and the coronavirus pandemic, which have taken a heavy toll on US shale. After the conversation, the Kremlin said it was agreed that consultations on the oil markets would continue between Russia’s Ministry of Energy and the US Department of Energy.
