Fourth Quarter Starts With Oil Prices in Retreat

Oil futures crashed Thursday, starting the fourth quarter on a distinctly bearish note amid an Atlantic Basin awash in unwanted crude. Much of the downward pressure comes from the physical oil market. Traders say there are at least six distressed cargoes of crude languishing in the Atlantic as buying interest wanes.
