Japan has sharply increased its imports of Abu Dhabi crude for February arrival while cutting Saudi imports, likely due to cheaper Abu Dhabi official crude export prices. Japan landed 1.02 million b/d of February crude from the United Arab Emirates, a leap of 227,000 b/d from last February, equivalent to a 29% spike, data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Meti) shows. Abu Dhabi crude makes up the bulk of Emirati exports.
