North Dakota saw its oil and gas output increase in February but is bracing for a sharp drop in the coming months as the second-largest producing state grapples with ongoing turmoil in global crude markets. Oil production coming primarily from the Bakken tight oil play hit 1.45 million b/d in February, up about 1.4% from January. The state also captured about 87% of the natural gas it produced, its best rate in years leading to the largest captured volume in the state’s history, about 2.7 Bcf/d.
