US Gas Seizes $2 Handle

A revised outlook for even warmer weather next week, and indications that LNG feedgas demand as begun to climb from last week’s nadir of 3.2 Bcf/d, triggered one of the strong rallies in US gas futures so far this year. September natural gas futures soared 30.2c to a close at $2.101/MMBtu. A prompt month contract hasn’t sported a $2 handle in three months and only twice since late January. A slight drop in production also aided the price jump.
