Oil production in the US surged 12% last week to hit roughly 11.1 million barrels a day as onshore drilling activity edged up and offshore fields resumed production after weather-related shut-ins, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). The agency’s Weekly Petroleum Status Report, published Wednesday, showed that US oil output jumped by some 1.2 million b/d in the week ended Oct. 23. Domestic crude production had fallen by roughly 600,000 b/d the previous week and 500,000 b/d the week before that (OD Oct.21’20).
