Goodyear breaks ground on Luxembourg plant

COLMAR-BERG, Luxembourg—Goodyear broke ground Sept. 12 on a passenger tire plant in Colmar-Berg that the company said will use additive manufacturing technologies to produce premium tires in small-batch quantities on demand. The new facility, set to open in 2019, is in close proximity to Goodyear's Luxembourg innovation center and tire proving grounds. The company is investing $77 million in the facility, which will produce about 500,000 tires annually and create about 70 full-time positions.
