George Perkins looks at some of the challenges facing RFID technology as well as some of the solutions that it can provide. The development of RFID system solutions for industrial environments has come a long way since its first implementation back in the 1970s. Like so many innovative concepts in the control industry, automotive manufacturing led the way for many RFID developments. Each new development has helped improve performance and extend the possibilities for this technology.
