Gazprom Neft Woos Venture Funds in Technology Push

Russia’s third-largest crude oil pro- ducer, Gazprom Neft, one of the leaders of the country’s technology drive, is pursuing active cooperation with venture funds to spread the fi- nancial burden of making new ad- vances in the field. Gazprom Neft itself has created a new venture fund with the Russian Venture Company, Gazprombank and Vneshe- conombank to help develop tech- nologies for the sector. The initial venture capital is 4 billion rubles ($62 million), but it can be in- creased in future with the agree- ment of all the partners.
