摘要

While Russia and Ukraine have yet to resolve their differences over gas transit, the two countries have found it less difficult in agreeing a new 10-year crude oil transit deal, which formally extends the current agreement expiring at the end of the year. Russian national oil pipeline mo- nopoly Transneft and its counterpart in Ukraine, Ukrtransnafta, last week signed an addition to the existing agreement on providing transporta- tion services. The document deter- mines key principles for transport- ing Russian crude via the Ukrainian section of the Druzhba pipeline, or the southern Druzhba, running to Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. The new agreement is for another 10 years from 2020 with an option to extend it for one year ev- ery year after that unless agreed dif- ferently by both sides.
