Russia has spare production capac- ity of about 500,000 b/d that it could bring on stream quickly, Energy Minister Alexander Novak has said. So far, however, there haven’t been any discussions on increasing production following the disruptions in Saudi Arabia as a result of aerial attacks on its oil facilities (NC Sep.19’19). “We talked with the Saudi energy minister last week over the phone. [The Saudis] evaluate the situation as normal, and we agreed that no additional actions are needed. Restoration works are under way there. And you can see the situation on the market is stable now,” Novak told reporters in Moscow on Sep. 24.
