In contrast to its international peers, Russia's largest oil producer, state-controlled Rosneft, managed to post a profit in the second quarter. Rosneft's earnings for the three months came in at $700 million, beating out the likes of BP and Total, which finished the quarter in the red. To be sure, coupled with a $2 billion loss in the first quarter, Rosneft posted a six-month loss of $1.3 billion.
