AFRICAN Barrick Gold plc (ABG) said it planned to buy several exploration licences in Kenya - a move that would expand its operations beyond the company's traditional operating zone of Tanzania.ABG said it offered Aviva Corporation Ltd A$20 million (US$21 million) for its 51 % stake in two special licences it holds with joint venture partner Lonmin Plc, with the option to acquire a further 24% interest on funding a prefeasibility study.The gold producer would also have a 75% right to three other licences, which are joint ventures with Advanced Gold.
