摘要

A flag-shaped microstrip line fed rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (RDRA) is introduced for producing wideband circular polarization (CP) fields and the proposed design utilizes two orthogonal modes of the RDRA for the generation of CP fields. The improvement in the 3-dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth is observed from 16.45% to 58.36% by optimizing the antenna design parameters and by truncating three notches from the flag shape microstrip line. The designing, fabrication, and testing of the proposed antenna prototype has been done and it achieves 47.27% of broad 3-dB AR bandwidth and 66.66% of wide |S-11| bandwidth, respectively. The produced radiator is appropriate for WiMAX applications.
