The copper industry has learnt its lesson following years ofoverspending and overproduction during the supercycle, and is nowfar more careful how it allocates capital, the chief executive officer(ceo) of Antofagasta said.According to Ivan Arriagada, the misallocation of capital is now lesslikely with the sector instead focusing on increasing its margins, eventhough some existing operations will struggle to achieve this.
