DAILY SCRAP REPORT: Turkish prices dip on fresh US deal

Turkish scrap import prices have weakened slightly with news of afresh deep-sea deal heard on Thursday May 18.Metal Bulletin’s daily index for Northern Europe-origin scrapclosed at $264.91 per tonne cfr, down by $2.15 per tonne day-on-day.The daily index for USA-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap closed at$273.32 per tonne cfr, down by $3.06 per tonne day-on-day.This put the premium for US material over Northern European scrapat $8.41 per tonne on May 18. The downward movement in the dailyindices came after a deep-sea cargo was sold late on May 17.
