Seaborne iron ore prices remained flat on Thursday February 7 on continued muted trading amid a week-long public holiday in China.Markets in China remain closed for the week-long Lunar New Year holiday, which started on Monday.Brazilian miner Vale has declared force majeure on iron ore and pellet contracts with some of its customers amid a halt order issued for its Brucutu mine by a Brazilian court on Tuesday February 5.In addition, the miner has also halted operations at its Vargem Grande complex earlier than expected on Monday. As a result, around 13 million tonnes of iron ore production will be cut.
