The United States’ ferrous scrap export market suffered a steep dropon the East Coast, while activity on the West Coast registered amore modest discount.After more than a two-week hiatus, Turkey returned to the US onTuesday April 9 and purchased a cargo that included 32,000 tonnesof an 80:20 mix of No1 and No2 heavy melting scrap (HMS) at $306per tonne, 6,000 tonnes of shredded scrap at $311 per tonne and2,000 tonnes of bonus-grade scrap at $316 per tonne.
