Mopani Copper Mine suspends operations at Nkana South Ore Body Shaft after two deaths in explosive incident

Operations at Mopani Copper Mines’ (MCM) Nkana mine South OreBody Shaft in Zambia were suspended on Tuesday March 19following an explosive incident.Two workers were killed in the accident and the investigation intoits causes is still ongoing. As a result, it is unclear when operations atthe mine shaft will resume or how much production will be lost as aresult of the stoppage.
