Prices for coated-steel products in Turkey decreased in the sevendays to Friday April 5, with demand weak in both the domestic andexport markets.Demand was weak in March because of market uncertaintyahead of the mayoral elections held across the country on March 31,sources told Fastmarkets.Unofficially, the Justice & Development Party (AKP) - the party ofnational government - won the majority of the mayoral votes, butthe country’s principal cities, including Ankara, Istanbul, Adana andAntalya are all thought to have elected mayors from the mainopposition Republican People’s Party (CHP).Market participants want to wait and see if end-user demand willimprove now that the uncertainty is over, sources told Fastmarkets.
