The hot-rolled coil price in the United States has edged up amid expectations of another round of mill price increases that some sources said could be rolled out before the end of the week. Fastmarkets’ daily steel hot-rolled coil index, fob mill US was calculated at $28.22 per hundredweight ($564.40 per short ton) on Thursday December 12, up by 0.6% from $28.04 per cwt a day earlier and 0.5% higher than $28.08 per cwt on December 5. Lead times are in a wide range of three to eight weeks, according to market participants and published mill lead time sheets.
