Prices for cold-rolled coil and coated steel in the United States rose for the fourth consecutive week during the week ended Thursday August 8, although the pace of the increase slowed as the momentum from three rounds of $20-per-ton hikes started to fade. Fastmarkets assessed steel cold-rolled coil, fob mill US at $38 per hundredweight ($760 per short ton) on August 8, up by 50 cents from a week earlier.
