Prices for hot-rolled coil imports in the key Vietnam market increased in the past week on a continued buying spree by Chinese and Vietnamese buyers. Major re-rollers bought at least 30,000 tonnes of Indian HRC at $470-475 per tonne cfr Vietnam in the past week. “Major re-rollers are able to follow the HRC prices increases because they are still making good margins, compared with pipemakers,” a Vietnamese trader told Fastmarkets on Friday July 24.
