Wire rod producers in Southern Europe managed to achieve higher prices in deals during the week to Wednesday October 14, due to good buying appetite and limited supply, sources told Fastmarkets. Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel wire rod (mesh-quality), domestic, delivered Southern Europe was at €470-485 ($553-571) per tonne on Wednesday, up €5-10 per tonne from €465-475 per tonne delivered last Wednesday.
