Nornickel completes Australian exit in BHP sale

Russian multi-metal miner Nornickel has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Honeymoon Well nickel project to BHP Billiton Nickel West, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anglo-Australian miner BHP Group, the company said on Friday June 19. Nornickel - the world’s largest producer of high-grade nickel - agreed the sale of its last existing Australian asset, via its regional subsidiary MPI Nickel, for an undisclosed sum with Citigroup acting as financial advisor in the transaction, it said.
