Some flat steel prices in Turkey have increased during the week ended Friday February 28, although demand was moderate and there was uncertainty in the market after at least 33 Turkish soldiers were killed in a military incident in Syria. As well as the deaths, several other soldiers were injured in an airstrike in Idlib, northwestern Syria, on February 27, that Turkey has blamed on the forces of Syria’s Bashar al-Assad regime. The Turkish soldiers were there in support of anti-government Syrian rebels.
