Another former Red Kite fund manager is looking to go it solo. Haihua Shen who managed one of Asia’s biggest metals fund HFZ Capital Management has plans to set up a new commodities hedge fund, sources told Fastmarkets this week. The move comes after HFZ, an arbitrage-focused joint venture between legendary London copper fund managers Red Kite and Chinese trading giant Maike Metals, began to close at the end of May, with the remaining funds returned to investors.
