Walgreens completes Duane Reade buy as former execs go in the dock

US drugstore operator Walgreens has completed the acquisition of Duane Reade it announced in February. Duane Reade will continue to operate its 258 New York stores, corporate office and two distribution centres under its own name. Walgreens says it will "consider the most effective way to harmonise both brands over time."
