Germany Q2 steel orders fall as company earnings soar

New orders for German rolled steel fell by 12% in the secondquarter from the same period a year earlier, to 9.15 mt, Germansteel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WVS) reportedon 14 August.Orders from outside the EU jumped by 31% to 1.0 mt, whileorders from the domestic market and the EU slowed by 14% to5.6 mt and 17% to 2.6 mt respectively, it said.
