State owned Indian power generator, Andhra Pradesh PowerGeneration Corporation Ltd (APGENCO), has returned to theimport market after a two-year absence with a tender to procure1.5 mt of imported steam coal on a plant delivered basis, adding tothe significant volumes of awards and tenders by Indian stateowned generators over the last few months.APGENCO is the third state owned generator to issue importenquiries in recent days with a number of other generators alsoawarding on tenders first floated towards the end of last year. Inaddition, it is understood that more state generators are likely toissue import tenders to build up stock for their monsoon (JuneSeptember) requirement.
