European carbon prices jumped to a record high on the weekending on 16 February, pushing German power prices higher, butcoal-fired generation in Germany resisted the carbon pricepressure and increased sharply thanks to the declining windgeneration, while in the UK the clean-dark spread rose butdidn’t quite manage to escape negative territory.
