Vietnam coal imports down 25% on month in January

Coal imports into Vietnam dropped to 1.16 mt in January, falling25% from 1.55 mt in December. However, they were up 146% upfrom the 0.47 mt imported in January 2017.The big rise on the year comes from the low base in January2017, when Vietnam likely backed out of January-arrival bookingsover sharply rising prices in November 2016, amid China’sdomestic production restrictions.
