UsG high-sulphur petcoke spot prices slide into $50s per tonne

United States Gulf Coast (USGC) FOB spot high-sulphur petroleum coke (petcoke) deals are now re?ecting prices in the mid- to high $50s/t, once again knocking down assessed prices for another consecutive week. Atlantic petcoke markets have fallen around a third over the last six weeks, and have finally sparked some buyers' interest. At least two cargoes are understood to have traded in recent days, at around $56-57/t FOB USGC, basis 7,500 kc NAR, for material containing 5.5-7.5% sulphur. The destinations of these cargoes are unclear, although one is understood to be for a buyer in the Mediterranean.
