Indonesian output may hit 600 mt in 2019 as miners get nod to ramp-up

Indonesia could produce a record 600 mt of coal this year, with the final touches being put on approvals for miners to increase their output. The Directorate General of Minerals and Coal has approved requests from 34 Coal Contract of Work (CCoW) holders – the country’s larger miners – to have their production plans increased, albeit it is still in the process of finalising the volumes for each. Two CCoW miners have been told the volume that has been approved, sources have said.
